Is it the same as the old 501X stealth 25?

If not, is there a diagram floating around anywhere?

It looks like it uses the same Jedi type radio connector end.

Part number on the cable I have is 023-5100-920.

It programs the 5100 portable directly from a serial
computer port.

This is what I have in my cable that programs the stealth 501x.

I modded the cable just now but it's still a no go. I can't figure out what's wrong. The radio is a 5100 Vhf with version 4.4.4 firmware. I have pcconfigure 1.21, 1.26, and also the new 2.1. Nothing works.

Nevermind. It's all the same except pins 2 and 3 on the db9 end need to be swapped.

I may be off here by asking but has any one heard of a mod using a Moto XTS cable to program a 5100? If so does anyone know the pin swap on the DB connector?

Sorry it 's not a XTS cable but a Jedi cable with 2 or 3 wires switched around.

I can't be 100% sure abvout Jedi series cables, but I know you cannot use (or modify without a serious, switched multi-pin hack) a Motorola Serial or USB cable to program an EF Johnson. Motorola still uses a RS232-to-TTL (or USB-to-TTL) converter on either the MTSX connector back-side of the PC board, or more commonly, on the DB9 side (On-Board RIB-On-Chip Style) on their cables. EFJ radios talk RS232 on their accessory port natively so the cables are "straight-through", where Motorola does not speak native RS-232.

Motorola does this so the onboard processor can be boot-strapped directly for firmware flashing seamlessly through software (using this Chip). EF Johnson radios need to be manually powered into boot-strap mode in order for firmware flashing to take place.

People do not realize this because Moto did away with the older RIB boxes and now use no box at all or an SRIB, but it's still in there, just smaller. This is also/particularly true for the Astro 25 series radios.

Make sure you study your Jedi cable carefully for an onboard chip on both ends of the cable. If it's a true OEM Moto cable, the DB9 side might not be serviceable, from what I've seen.
