The Radio Information Board

Hello,

I am currently debating on purchasing a Icom Ic F 50V or the Motorola EX600XLS. I need some help choosing please any info would be appreciated. I dont really know what the quality and performace of these radios are, One big thing that i am looking for is the audio from internal speaker, Which one is louder and clear and audio?

I have no experience with either of the 2 radios you listed, but if you want extra loud audio you should check out the Vertex VX-820.

It's very comparable in terms of size, but has a rated audio output of 700 mW as opposed to the iCOM and MOT at 500 mW.

The Icom has a rated 700mw as well... What i have noticed from these radios with 700mw does not mean anything because there are radios with 500mw that are still alot louder.

I have an F50. I love it. I am compareing it to the vertex 900 series and the motorola ht1250. I love the F50. It's water proof and very ruged. If the 1250 is sneezed on it dies. The vertex we are having some problems with. The radio seems to cut in and out. Can't fugure it out yet. Hope this info helps.

In my county we use both radios, and the Icom F60 (we are UHF) hold up better and are more liked by those that carry them.

Another factor is the accessories and programming stuff which is much cheaper on the Icom side.
