TK-840 Password

I bought 2 used tk-840's off of ebay, and they have a password to protect programming. How do I fix this?

it's my understanding that you can't read a passworded radio but you can write to it. there is no way around the password that I know of.

You cant read the radio without the password but you can overwrite the data without knowing the password.
