Kenwood KCT-48VU External Vibration Unit Programming

I just purchased one of these and cannot find any reference to it in
KPG-89D. I have a Tk-2180 loaded with firmware version 1.18.00. I
should be able to use the KCT-48VU for vibra-alert upon receiving a
properly decoded QCII for my fire company.

The largely useless instructions that came with the unit read;

"The silent Vibration function will be programmed by your Kenwood
dealer to enable the Vibration adapter to function. Radio firmware
updating may also be required to enable functionality."

I have the latest firmware loaded, and none of my local dealers have
ever heard of this unit. One was able to order it for me from
Kenwood, but could not get any information from Kenwood on how to
program it.

Anyone out there have any pointers?

under extended function, optional board, universal connector pin No. 11 you can select vibrator.

Vibrator:

When the Optional Signaling matches while the Vibrator function is enabled, the transceiver toggles the DC 5 V source between On and Off at a 500 ms interval for 10 seconds, and supplies the voltage source from Pin No. 11 of the Universal Connector. The optional vibrator connected to the Universal Connector will notify a user by vibration that the Optional Signaling matches.

Yes, I saw that in the setting and did enable it, but still nothing. I've gotten it to work since that posting. It was a hardware issue. Kenwood issued a hardware revision on the TK-2180 and only radios with serial numbers that begin with 8 and higher are able to use this accessory.
