Help for Bendix Kings

Hello, We have 2 LPH handhelds that has audio but not voice carrier on transmit. What i mean is they recieve fine but when you tx them nothing is heard on our other Bks of the same channels, frequencies meaning im suspecting the transmit or something is out in these 2 radios. Could this be that maybe the microprocessor (the little black square processor) is out and needs replaced or could i be looking in the wrong direction? I do have a few spare microprocessors for these that are good in case they do need replaced.
