I asked earlier about what PCConfigure I needed for my 242-5117-66GS4 it has V 4.4.4 . I would like to know if the 5100 can be programmed for a P25 Smartnet system via the key pad or if I can use any of the PCConfigure versions I have to do this ( I have 1.24.00.00, 2.01.00 and 2.06.09). Or do I have to get PCConfigure 1.28.0.8? Thanks.

You could probably use the 1.26.0.9 but I think there was some file format changes between the versions, so I am unsure how reliable it would be.
Regarding your other questions, you need to use PCC to load the trunking data, FPP just changes conv freq's.
To program you will also need a system key, which EFJ doesn't just hand out to anybody.

Thanks alot I will try the 1.26.09 . What is a system key ? Is there anyway of looking to see in a file if there is a key installed and what would I be looking for? (As you can tell this is my first trunking radio of this quality). Thanks.

The system key is a separate encrypted file that is based on the system ID of the system you want to program. PCC will read this key and allow users to enter/change/delete trunking data in programming as well as allow saving of files and writing to radios. Without this key you cannot do a whole lot on the trunking side.

Thank you. I have all the system info (Do not want TX on the system). It looks like I'm going to get hung up on the trunking part. Thank you again.
