The Radio Information Board

Hello everyone, I just got a new in box Vertex 600 in VHF off ebay. The radio works fine, but the display does not show anything. I checked everything in the software many times and can't find a setting for this. The keypad lights up a dim orange, not as bright as my 929 at all. However, the screen shows no sign of life from what I can see. The radio is brand new. Is it possible that there is a protective coding on the screen? Looking at the screen the display is black, not clear. Any ideas? Thanks.

are you sure its a vx-600?

the 600 does not have a display on top only the vx-900 does.

Yeah I thought it did because the place where you put the sticker looks like a small display. Found this out a few hours after I posted this, thanks anyway.
