The Radio Information Board

Well I have asked at a few places with no luck, if I dont get any luck here then I am going to call Yaesu tech support. I have a FT-50R and the radio had extended reception. The radio recently had some problems and I had to replace some components and the internal battery. So hence I lost all programming. I am trying to get the radio into extended RX with holding knob and lamp while powering the radio up. It is not working, and this happened to me once before when I first purchased the radio and I want to say the manual was wrong, b/c I ended up getting frustrated and hitting all kinds of combonations of buttons and I got the radio into extended RX. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Ya I looked at it but its the same stuff in the manual thanks though. I am looking for people who had problems getting extended rx to work.
