Maxon SM-4150

I have purchaesd a Maxon SM-4150, was told it was for 160-174 mhz but could be tweeked to 150 mhz range. Any info on how this can be done.Thanks

Look on the back of the radio and if it says SM4150H then it is 160-174 range. If is is SM4150M it is 150-160 range. If its is and H model then yes the radio can be modified to go down to the 150 range. I bought 3 GE Monograms and had to have that done to them because they were 160-174 range. The only place I could find to do it was in Moore, Oklahoma and is called Multicom. They did the radios for $125.00 each. Good luck on the radio.
